different-sim-detected

We’ve previously mentioned a method by which you can activate your iPhone without using an authorized SIM, but it seems that Apple has already found a way to address this loophole.

As a result, users are now welcomed by a “Different SIM detected” error message just like the one shown on the screencap we have right now. Fortunately though, there’s now a fix for this allowing you guys to hacktivate your iPhone with the use of a phonebook SIM card and enjoy its benefits. Redmondpie provides an instructional on how to avoid getting this message by replacing the Lockdown folder on the iPhone, but this is a bit tedious and you’ll have to connect your iPhone to a PC. The one from Pushfix, on the other hand, is a lot simpler and you can do it anywhere since a PC is not required here. Just head on over to Cydia, add the sourcehttp://cydia.pushfix.info, and download and install Hacktivation Patch. This works with the iPhone 4, iPhone 3G/S, and iOS 4.0.1 to as far back as iPhone OS 3.1.2. So take your pick guys, but it’s pretty clear, in my opinion, which one’s the better choice.

To jailbreak your iPhone, there’s the new iPhone 4 jailbreak you can try out which works via Safariand is likewise compatible with the iPhone 3G/S, iPad, and iPod Touch. To unlock it, ultrasn0w 1.0-1 is now available as an iPhone 4 unlock.
